Empowering High-Potential Women Leaders

Growing up in a small town in India, Sidd witnessed very closely the challenges that women faced in building their careers. Scarce resources, limited access to quality education, and a lack of exposure to opportunities that could help them grow professionally. Environments where societal expectations and traditional roles often restrict women from pursuing leadership or ambitious career paths were very common. This early experience made Sidd deeply aware of the barriers women encounter, which fuelled his passion to create programs and initiatives that empower women to overcome these obstacles and unlock their full potential in the professional world. Thus, Sidd built GWLI – Global Women Leadership Initiative (GWLI) at VDart, which was launched in 2020. It is a program that aims at building a strong group of future-ready women leaders.

It is built on four key pillars:

GWLI enhances leadership skills, creates mentoring opportunities, and promotes growth and success for women across the organization. The initiative also drives community engagement, such as women-led CSR activities and networking events, reinforcing VDart’s commitment to gender inclusivity and sustainable growth.

Sidd then planned a collaboration that would go beyond training . Something that will be about creating lasting value by empowering women to lead and drive meaningful impact across the organization.

Thus came the collaboration between IIM Tiruchirappalli and VDart’s Global Women Leadership Initiative (GWLI) in August 2024. This program was focused on delivering a long-term leadership development program for VDart’s leaders. This partnership was driven by VDart’s commitment to nurture talent and groom the next generation of women leaders through an executive education program tailored by IIM Trichy’s expertise in management and leadership development.

Sidd emphasized the importance of such initiatives as key differentiators in creating value and impact within the company, while IIM Trichy recognized VDart’s rapid growth and aspiration to develop forward-thinking leaders globally. The collaboration kick-started with a phased leadership program, starting with senior leadership sessions in November 2024, designed to build strategic leadership skills aligned with VDart’s business growth and inclusivity goals.

This three-day management development program created a significant impact by training the participants to develop strategic leadership skills and business acumen necessary for executive roles, thus promoting gender diversity and inclusion in corporate leadership.
